A personality disorder is a mental condition defined by rigid and unhealthy patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior.

People with personality disorders cause distress to themselves and to others.

People with personality disorders have difficulty getting along with people, and dealing with everyday tasks the way they are expected to culturally. These disorders may go untreated as people assume it is normal behavior. They are generally described as tendencies developing over the long-term since adolescence.
