Dr Raghav Shah
(DM Addiction Psychiatry)
Dr Raghav Shah is among a few psychiatrists in India and the only one in Rajasthan who has a superspecialist qualification in deaddiction. He completed his DM in Addiction Psychiatry from the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh.
He believes in an empathic but an organized approach to recovery of persons with addiction.
Treatment Programs
They include smoked tobacco products like cigarettes, cigars, pipes, 'Beedis', E-cigarettes and chewed tobacco products like 'Khaini', 'Guthkha', 'Zarda'
Cannabinoids include Hash, Weed, Marijuana, Synthetics like K2, Spice, and locally known 'Charas', 'Gaanja', 'Bhaang', 'Hashish'
Alcoholic beverages include beer, wine, spirits or hard drinks like whisky, vodka, rum, and country liquors or 'desi daaru'
Opioids include Heroin, Smack, Medical opioids which are abused, injectables, and locally known 'Afeem', 'Dode', 'Post', 'Bhukki'
A gambling addiction is often associated with substance abuse, unmanaged ADHD, stress, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.
Inhalants include sniffed, or huffed, puffed chemicals like glue, thinners, solvents
Sleeping pills include the benzodiazepines like Alprazolam, Clonazepam, Lorazepam and others like Zolpidem
Excessive caffeine use mostly seen as taking huge amounts of strong black coffee
Addictive use of video games, either online or offline, more in children and youth
